What is taken
and what is not
Last updated: 2026-10-08
1. The short version
- Your pay, your fixed costs, your goal amount and your friends’ nicknames are calculated inside your browser. None of it is sent to a server.
- No amount or nickname is ever put in the URL. Sharing a link does not pass on your income.
- No amount or nickname appears in server logs, analytics events or error reports.
- There is no login and no user database.
2. What is stored in this browser
The items below are saved in this browser’s localStorage only if you turn on “remember me on this device”. Turning it off deletes them immediately.
- The figure you entered and what it means (yearly or monthly, before tax or take-home)
- Fixed monthly costs, work days, paid hours and payday
- Any unit price you changed and any item you added yourself
- Your last 12 calculations
Storage keys are separated by region. A figure saved on the US screen is never read back as pounds or euros on another screen.
Your consent choices for ads and analytics are stored separately from that setting, because otherwise the banner would reappear on every visit.
You can clear everything at any time with “delete all saved data” at the bottom of the calculator screen, or by clearing site data in your browser.
3. Advertising
These advertising and affiliate providers are currently active on this site:
- Google AdSense (Google LLC)
- Coupang Partners banner iframe (Coupang Corp.)
- Coupang Partners affiliate link (Coupang Corp.)
To serve and measure ads, these providers may use cookies or similar technology to collect device and browser information — IP address, user agent, the page you are on. What they collect and why is governed by their own policies. This site never passes them an amount or a nickname you typed.
Financial ads are not targeted based on your income. No salary information is handed to any ad provider.
4. Your choices
There is no consent pop-up on arrival. Every core feature — the calculator, the counter, the comparison, saving an image — works under any setting, and the default state collects only the following.
- Visit statistics — on by default. No cookies and no identification of individuals. You can switch it off whenever you like.
- Advertising — allowed by default, but that alone does not make ads appear. The condition below also has to be met.
Google advertising (AdSense and Ad Manager) is configured to load only when a consent signal from a Google-certified CMP is present. For traffic from regions that require a certified CMP — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland among them — that protection is handled by the certified CMP, not by this site’s own settings panel. Current CMP setting: none (not configured — those ads are blocked, conservatively).
This site’s settings panel is not a Google-certified CMP, and it does not claim to be one.
An affiliate link card is an ordinary link with no script and no cookie. Nothing leaves your browser until you click it, so those cards are shown regardless of your consent settings. Once you click, that site’s policies apply.
An affiliate image banner is different: it loads the provider’s iframe, which can set cookies. Banners are therefore not shown if you decline advertising. The banner does pass the full page address to the provider so commission can be attributed, but since this site never puts amounts or nicknames in the address, no income information travels with it.
You can decline, change or withdraw these choices at any time from “Cookie and ad settings” in the footer of every page. (Advertising: allowed)
5. Analytics
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc.) to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not identify individuals, which is why it runs by default. Switch it off in “Cookie and ad settings” in the footer and the measurement script is not loaded at all.
- Collected: the page path, the referrer, device and browser type, and an approximate region.
- Nothing you typed is sent. This site never puts your input in the URL, so the page path cannot carry income information either.
- No cookie that identifies you is used.
- The operator sees only aggregate figures in the Vercel dashboard.
Vercel’s own handling is governed by the Vercel Privacy Policy.
6. External links
Affiliate and sponsored links carry rel="sponsored noopener noreferrer" and open in a new tab. Once you follow one, that site’s policies apply. Non-HTTPS addresses and schemes such as javascript: are blocked.
7. Share images
Share images are generated in your browser and never uploaded. Amounts are hidden by default and only included if you explicitly turn that on. The image never contains ads, the cookie banner, or your input fields.
8. Retention
No personal data is stored on a server, so there is no server-side retention period. Anything saved in your browser stays in that browser until you delete it.
9. Where the operator is
The operator is based in the Republic of Korea, and the site is hosted on infrastructure outside your country. Because nothing you type is transmitted, there is no cross-border transfer of your figures to disclose. Requests served to you, like any web request, do involve your IP address reaching the hosting provider and any active ad provider.
